Ciarán Kelly, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Attending Gastroenterologist and Associate Director of Gastroenterology Training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kelly has longstanding clinical and research interests in intestinal infection and inflammation. He is the author of more than 300 clinical and basic research book chapters, invited reviews, and peer-reviewed publications appearing in such journals as Infection and Immunity, the American Journal of Physiology, Gastroenterology, the Journal of Biological Chemistry, the Journal of Clinical Investigation, The Lancet, and the New England Journal of Medicine. For more than 20 years, Dr. Kelly has committed himself to finding new medical solutions to C difficile infection, inflammatory bowel disease, and celiac disease. As Medical Director of the Celiac Center at BIDMC, he heads clinical research and educational programs in celiac disease.
